Analyst Scripting

Most mass spectrometer manufacturers distribute a selfdevelopment kit (SDK) to access the data in the data files they support (e.g., Xcalibur SDK from Thermo, Analyst Scripting from Sciex). See the mass spectrometer manufacturer about these SDKs. 

The user is able to customize the transform setup resource file to include as many custom scripts or unit transforms as desired for a particular application. In addition, the user can improvise operations on the fly. If the analyst decides to try plotting the data as a function of a reciprocal log, he takes the log and then reciprocal of the x-axis. If he decides to make this a regular option, he can enter it in the transform setup list under any name desired. Next time the transform option is called he will be able to select that operation by choosing it from the list under the name saved under. 

Initially, a single test script under the Analyst validation was envisioned. However, as the complexity of the MassChrom software versions was understood, a data migration and system retirement test plan was required to explain the overall strategy with five test scripts. Further information gathering revealed more complexity, and the number of test scripts rose to 10. 

Li et al. [40-42] used a QTrap system to incorporate both the conventional SRM-only acquisition of parent compounds and the SRM-triggered IDA of potential metabolites within the same scan cycle during the same LC-MS/MS run in plasma sample analysis. The fast scanning capability of the LIT allowed for the IDA of metabolite MS/MS spectra <1 s/scan, in addition to the collection of adequate data points for SRM-only channels. Cardizem franchise, Marion Merrell Dow apparently intends to follow a strategy similar to the one Pfizer used to protect its nifedipine franchise from generics with sustained-release Procardia XL. Pfizer s strategy called for discounting the new generation product by 25 percent and promoting the price savings directly to consumers. Pfizer told analysts last fail that Procardia XL accounted for nearly two-thirds of all Procardia scripts one year after its launch in October 1989 ( The Pink Sheet nov. 5, p. 8). 

On the last released versions of the Analyst software, dynamic background subtraction can be selected with a single click. An independent script is needed for older versions.
