Loop diuretics Amphotericin

AMPHOTERICIN DIURETICS-LOOP DIURETICS AND THIAZIDES Risk of hypokalaemia Additive effect Monitor potassium closely... [Pg.562]

Other drugs that may interact with cardiac glycosides include the following Albuterol, amphotericin B, beta-blockers, calcium, disopyramide, loop diuretics, nondepolarizing muscle relaxants, potassium-sparing diuretics, succinylcholine, sympathomimetics, thiazide diuretics, thioamines, and thyroid hormones. [Pg.408]

Thiazide diuretics may diminish the effects of anticoagulants, uricosuric agents used to treat gout, sulfonylureas, and insulin and increase the effects of anesthetics, diazoxide, cardiac glycosides, hthium, loop diuretics, and vitamin D. The effectiveness of thiazide diuretics may be reduced by NSAlDs and bile acid sequestrants (reduced absorption of thiazides). Amphotericin B and corticosteroids increase the risk of hypokalemia induced by thiazide diuretics. [Pg.489]

Increased risk of toxicity with drugs that alter serum electrolytes (potassium -depleting diuretics, corticosteroids, thiazide and loop diuretics, amphotericin B, quinidine, amiodarone). Blockers of p adrenergic receptors, calcium channels, or acetylcholinesterase increase risk of complete AV block. Drugs which alter Gl absorption may alter bioavallabillty. [Pg.61]

Decreased magnesium levels, that is, levels of 1.2 mEq/L (0.64 mmol/L) or less, may be noted in patients with conditions that cause excessive urinary loss of magnesium, including poorly controlled diabetes and alcohol abuse, or in patients using drugs such as loop and thiazide diuretics (e.g., Lasix, Bumex, Edecrin, and hydrochlorothiazide), cisplatin (which is used widely to treat cancer), and the antibiotics gentamicin, amphotericin, and cyclosporine. Hypomagnesemia also can... [Pg.72]
