Ammoniac ammonium acid sulphate

Other method was described by Wagner (1+6) for the analysis and detection of salicylic acid and derivatives including salicylamide. Development was effected by using color reactions, with ferric ammonium sulphate, ammoniacal silver nitrate solution, potassium nitrate, HC1 and 5% KOH through diazotization and coupling with, 2-naphthol and coupling with diazotized sulphanilic acid. [Pg.539]

The process patented by Jumau1 involves the extraction of the roasted ore with an ammoniacal solution of ammonium sulphate or sulphite. Sulphurous acid reacts with the solution thus formed, precipitating either cuprous sulphite or cupro-cupric sulphite ... [Pg.249]

Cuprous sulphate dissolves in concentrated hydrochloric acid and in concentrated ammonium hydroxide. The ammoniacal solution yields a colourless, crystalline compound, Cu2S04,4NH3,H20, decomposed by water into metallic copper and an ammoniacal cupric compound.1 Cuprous sulphate is also dissolved to a slight extent by glacial acetic acid. The deep-violet solution thus produced is rapidly oxidized by air to a blue liquid, from which crystals of an acid cupric acetate are deposited.2... [Pg.270]

Silver chromate is almost insoluble in water, glacial acetic acid, and in solutions of potassium chromate, but soluble in those of ammonia, caustic alkalies, nitrates, and in dilute acetic acid. A concentrated solution of ammonium nitrate is a good crystallising medium for silver chromate. With chlorine, above 200° C., silver chloride, chromium trioxide, and oxygen are produced. The solution in ammonia contains the compound Ag2Cr04.4NH3, which forms crystals isomorphous with the corresponding ammoniacal sulphate. ... [Pg.64]

Gas Liquor Salt, Ammonium Sulphate.—When this liquor is neutralized with sulphuric acid, or if the wash water contains sulphuric acid, it yields on evaporation a crystalline mass known as gas liqmr salt. This salt is largely ammonium sulphate, and is the crude ammonium sulphate used in the fertilizer industry as the chief source of ammonia nitrogen. The coal tar after separation from the ammoniacal liquor is subjected to fractional distillation. [Pg.496]
