There is some evidence that the presence of amiodarone possibly increases the risk of complications (atropine-resistant bradycardia, hypotension, decreased cardiac output) during general anaesthesia. All cases were with fentanyl-based anaesthesia, but some other studies have shown no problems with fentanyl-based anaesthesia. 

In vitro and in vivo studies in animals suggest that amiodarone has additive cardiodepressant and vasodilator efreets with volatile anaestheties such as halothane, enflurane and isoflurane. " The manufaeturer notes that fentanyl is a substrate for the eytoehrome P450 isoenzyme CYP3A4, and that amiodarone might inhibit CYP3A4, thereby inereasing the toxie-ity of fentanyl. ...
