Amines, organic isocyanate generation

Aluminum phosphate based molecular sieves, role in environmentally benign synthesis of chemicals, 128 Amines, organic isocyanate generation, 49-57... [Pg.241]

WHITE PHOSPHORIC ACID (7664-38-2) A medium-strong acid. Violent reaction with strong bases. Violent reaction if water is added to concentrated acid. To dilute, always add acid to water heat will be generated. Reacts violently with solutions containing ammonia or bleach, azo compounds, epoxides, and other polymerizable compounds. Reacts, possibly violently, with amines, aldehydes, alkanolamines, alcohols, alkylene oxides, amides, ammonia, ammonium hydrox-ide, calcium oxide, cyanides, epichlorohydrin, esters, halogenated organics, isocyanates, ketones, oleum, organic anhydrides, sodium tetrahydroborate, sulfides. [Pg.1238]

Generation of Organic Isocyanates from Amines, Carbon Dioxide, and Electrophilic Dehydrating Agents... [Pg.49]

Fully cured polyurethanes present no health hazard they are chemically inert and insoluble in water and most organic solvents. Dust can be generated in fabrication, and inhalation of the dust should be avoided. Polyether-based polyurethanes are not degraded in the human body, and are therefore used in biomedical applications. Some of the chemicals used in the production of polyurethanes, such as the highly reactive isocyanates and tertiary amine catalysts, must be handled with caution. The other polyurethane ingredients, polyols and surfactants, are relatively inert materials having low toxicity. [Pg.1656]
