All-Volatile Treatment Program Chemistries

Needless to say, there is little point contemplating this form of treatment unless the FW quality is of a consistently high purity and excellent control systems are in place. Also, there is no purpose in attempting to combine AVT with any other type of program AVT combination programs do not work and the entire concept of AVT is lost.

Feed points for AVT treatments vary, usually hydrazine is added to the base of the deaerator but it also can be added to the base of the condensate extraction pump. Ammonia (where used) or amine is injected into the suction side of the boiler feed pump.
