Hospitality advisory boards

Honorary Consultant at the Maudsley Hospital and sees patients with anxiety, sleep and depressive disorders. He is on the advisory boards of about 25 international scientific journals. 

David Lyons has an MD from Trinity College Dublin and an MS in applied physiology. He trained in clinical medicine and was an MRC Research Fellow and Senior Registrar in Respiratory Medicine at Northwick Park Hospital, London, and St. James s Hospital, Dublin. Dr. Lyons joined the National Drugs Advisory Board in 1993 and has been a member of the EMEA s Committee on Proprietary Medicinal Products since 1995. He was Chairman of the Mutual Recognition Facilitation Group during the Irish presidency of the EU. 

In general this is the same as for hospitality at other types of meetings. There are exceptions to this, for example in the UK the ABPI does not restrict advisory board members to economy class travel. 

No social activity should be organised in conjunction with advisory board/consultant panels other than providing refreshments or a modest meal. The guidelines with respect to travel and hospitality also apply to travel and hospitality related to advisory board/consultant panels.

A graduate of Tufts University as well as Tufts School of Medicine, she completed her residency in internal medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, a Stanford University teaching hospital. In 2005, Dr. Jampolis hosted a program on the Discovery Network s FIT TV titled Fit TV s Diet Doctor, and she currently serves as the diet and fitness expert for CNNHealth.com. She serves as a member of the medical advisory board of Better Homes and Gardens and VivMag.com. 

Just as this book was nearing completion, our colleague Don Wiley tragically disappeared while attending a scientific advisory board meeting of St. Jude s Children s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. At that time, we had not yet mutually agreed upon a title. Don s latest communication to us on this topic was I like the title that ends Ashes to Enzymes. It is so biblical. Consequently, we decided to use that title.
