Activity-seeded clustering

A recent modification to the method has been reported [18] that involves the use of a subset of the dimensions for a set of structures with similar biological activity. This subset from an activity-seeded structure-based clustering has been called the receptor-relevant BCUT chemistry-space, and was used to perform a number of validation studies [18, 19]. The... [Pg.80]

Figure 3b shows the Pt-Pb NCs with a monolayer of Pt on the PtsPb NC seeds (we call this type A core-shell Pt-Pb NCs) Fig. 3c shows the NCs with much thicker Pt shell, as well as some Pt islands (we call this type B core-shell Pt-Pb NCs). Interestingly, the type A NCs show a higher activity toward FA oxidation than pure PtsPb the activity on type B NCs is much lower than that on the other two Pt-Pb nanostructures, while a peak at higher potential is observed, indicating the FA oxidation on type B NCs does occur via the indirect pathway. As described in all Pt-Pb cases, the FA oxidation activity increases at low potential due to the reduced CO poisoning. On the other hand, the low activity of type B NCs can be explained by the structural relaxation of the Pt atoms deposited on PtaPb NCs. The type B NCs have a lattice constant close to pure Pt, smaller than lattice constants for PtsPb NCs and type A NCs. Excess Pt atoms form thick Pt layers and Pt cluster islands on the PtsPb NCs. These Pt thick layers and islands have similar electrocatalytic properties to those of pure Pt, which generates CO from FA dehydration and decreases the overall activity. [Pg.898]

Oil Production. The fruit cluster, which contains about 3000-6000 fruits, is first steam-treated to inactivate the high lipase activity and to separate the pulp from the seed. The oil is recovered by pressing the disintegrated pulp. The crude... [Pg.646]
