Logistic activation function

The activation function F of the output neurons can be any monotone, nondecreasing differentiable function. Sigmoid or logistic functions are usually used.

This reorganization represents a clear separation of R D functions from logistic activities (Ref 5)... 

Outsourcing by chemical producers as chemical producers faced up to increasing competition over the past decades, they attempted not only to expand their market positions geographically, but also to improve operational efficiency by focusing on their core activities. As a result, suppliers have continuously outsourced sales and logistics functions as well as related value-added services to third-party distributors. 

Site services and infrastructure are very often considered a rather unexciting function in chemical corporations. Yet maintenance, logistics, utilities, engineering, analytical services, and SHE (safety, health, and environment) - to name but some of the key tasks - can have a major impact on their competitiveness. Hence, their management needs to be treated by chemical companies as part of their core activities. 

In addition to sharing a lead role in the ESF 6, the American Red Cross is named as a support agency in several other emergency support functions, including ESF 8, health and medical. This could involve activities such as providing logistic support for vaccine administration or adapting usual shelter services in catastrophic situations (such those that existed after Hurricane Katrina). 

Tetracaine is found to be 50-times more active than procaine. However, this phenomenal enhancement in potency may not be explained and proved experimentally by virtue of the presence of the overwhelming surge in lipid-solubility attributed by the -butyl moiety marked X . Logistically, the marked and pronounced potentiation of local anaesthetic profile offered by tetracaine may be attributed to the distinct electron-releasing activity of the said -butyl function via the inductive effect, that preferentially increases the prevailing electron density of the para-amino moiety, which subsequently enhances the creation of the resonance form readily available for enabling to get bound to the viable receptor proteins. 

Given that in this model the receptor and adenylate cyclase are separate entities, it is possible to take into account the independent variation of these two parameters. Moreover, the model based on receptor desensitization takes explicitly into account the activity of the two forms of phosphodiesterase. For each of these four parameters, namely the activity of adenylate cyclase, of intra- and extracellular phosphodiesterase, and the quantity of receptor present at the surface of the membrane, the variation observed in the hours that follow starvation takes the form of a sigmoidal increase as a function of time (fig. 7.3a-c). The evolution of each of these parameters can thus be described, to a first approximation, by an equation of the logistic type (Goldbeter Martiel, 1988 Martiel, 1988).
