At present, environmental regulators are often faced with scientific information that is inconclusive and incomplete and they are required to make judgement on whether or not the case has been made for decisive action. This Regulation also requires fabricators, packagers/labeliers, distributors, wholesalers and importers to maintain a programme of self-inspection. The purpose of self-inspection is to evaluate the compliance with GMP in all aspects of production and quality control. The self inspection programme is designed to detect any shortcomings in the implementation of GMP and to recommend the necessary corrective actions. 

AL (Action Level) is the exposure level at which the protective programme required by OSHA regulations must be put into effect. This would include things such as air monitoring, medical surveillance and training. 

The main features of the control system of the plant are reported here. A dedicated programmable logic controller (PLC) handles both regulation loops and an alarms-interlocks system. If any process condition exceeds the design values, a trip system is activated and an interlock sequence restores a safe state. The control panel operator monitors alarm indicators and may take appropriate action when needed to avoid a plant shut-down.
