Monazite grains (mn) are seen as bright grains with ion microprobe Th-Pb ages are in boxes with Ict errors. Other abbreviations include grt, garnet zr, zircon bt, biotite qz, quartz aln, allanite. These samples were collected from regions that experienced complicated polymetamorphic histories, and they illustrate the benefit of an in situ techiuque for monazite geochronology.
