You will find four zipped files there ... 

The first two contain all the transparencies in English and German language respectively and the latter two the control charts programme ExceUControl 2.1. To view the transparencies or use the programme contained in the zipped files, you will have to enter the password that you find printed at the end of Chap. 15. We strongly recommend that you download the zipped files to your own computer. 

Moreover, we have included a zip file CBE-book.zip on the CD with the contents of the CD itself in compressed form. This zip file is used for easy installation of our m file library on any hard drive. Local installation of the m files will facilitate handling of our codes under MATLAB. 

As the next step, copy the zip file CBE-book.zip from the CD onto this MATLAB specific folder matlabin and then extract or unzip it there. A subfolder called CBE-book with several subfolders for our m files, as well as the above mentioned text and html files will then appear inside matlabin. The MATLAB desktop should be directed towards a specific subfolder such as chap5.1.3m if, for example, one wants to explore or use the m files for Section 5.1.3. 

Carcinogenicity Data. An example of a SAS transport file for carcinogenicity data set is available. This is a self-extracting ZIP file that will be loaded to your C drive. If you download this file, the path to the example is C WINDOWS TEMP example N123456 pharmtox datasets 101. 

All die datasets bodi in the problems and the main text, organised as tables in Word, available as a single downloadable zip file. These are freely available to all readers of die book, but you are asked to acknowledge their source in any publication or report, for example via citations. 

Compression works best on files such as word processing documents and uncompressed images. Word files or MS Paint bitmaps can be compressed to up to 80 percent using compression. Files that are already packed well do not compress as effectively EXE and Zip files generally compress only about 2 percent. Similarly GIF and JPG images are already compressed (which is why they are used in Internet Web pages), so they compress little or not at all. 

Under the menu Electronic Products located on the left side of the screen, click on Downloads Updates. A list of books in alphabetical order with Web downloads will appear. Locate this book by a search, or scroll down to it. After clicking on the book title, a brief summary of the book will appear. Go to the bottom of this screen and click on the hyperlinked Download that is in a zip file.

The 100x100 system collected on the file system.dat, which is available in the folder Vol3 Chapter8 in the WileyVolS. zip file available at www.chem.polimi.it/ homes/gbuzzi, shows how the solution of the system is dramatically incorrect when the system is solved in the traditional way.
