Xalatan - Latanoprost

Xalatan (latanoprost) is a prostaglandin analogue, which increases the uvoscleral outflow, thereby decreasing the intraocular pressure. The drops, which are applied once daily, preferably in the evening, may cause eye discoloration especially in patients with mixed colour irides. [Pg.85]

Latanoprost (Xalatan) is commercially formulated as an aqneons solntion in a concentration of 0.005% preserved with 0.02% benzalkonimn chloride (BAG). The recommended dosage of latanoprost is one drop daily in the evening, which permits better dinrnal lOP control than does morning instillation. Refrigeration of the bottle is suggested for patients who nse the medication in only one eye.
