Other sections followed in which participants were asked to say whether they knew about gender studies and how, to answer some tricky questions regarding the authorship of important scientific discoveries and to answer further questions meant to operationalize factors such as perceived influence in academic and working life, presence of models in scientific career, expectations and foreseen strategies as regards life/work balance, familiarity with research, values. For space reasons these aspects will not be considered here. 

The use of radioactive tracers was pioneered by Georg von Hevesy, a Hungarian physical chemist, who received the Nobel Prize in 1943 for his work on radioactive indicators (1). Radioisotopes have become indispensable components of most medical and life science research strategies, and in addition the technology is the basis for numerous industries focused on the production and detection of radioactive tracers. Thousands of radioactive tracers have been synthesized and are commercially available. These are used worldwide in tens of thousands of research laboratories. 

Bear in mind that nothing goes exacdy as planned. You may need to stay late at work, you may get a nasty cold, soccer practice may go late, or your child might need to go to the doctor any number of things can happen to your well-thought-out study plan—and some of them probably will. You will need strategies for coping with life s little surprises.
