The doctrine of textualism encouraged some sociologists of scientific knowledge to identify a scientific field with its literary inscriptions . Recent studies in the field of science studies has revealed that in their praxis scientists, even pure scientists , do not encompass a positivist epistemology orfoUow aUnear sequential structure in their experiments.
