These are required to make threads, i.e. the final drawing, twisting and winding of cotton. Such motors must possess very smooth acceleration to eliminate breakage of threads. They are recommended to have a starting torque of 150-200% of T, and a pull-out torque of 200-275% of with a mean acceleration torque ol 150-175%. A normal acceleration time of 5-10 seconds is recommended. Faster acceleration may cause more breakages, while a slower acceleration may result in snarls and knots in the yarn as a result of insufficient tension. [Pg.167]

The inhibition of composite propellants is somewhat easier than that of DB propellants. The binders used for composite propellants (with or without fillers) have been reported for inhibition of composite propellants. Such inhibition systems possess stronger bonds with composite propellants and prove to be more compatible coupled with better shelf-life of the inhibited propellants. However, epoxy or novolac epoxy resin with or without inert fillers is generally preferred for the inhibition of composite propellants due to a combination of properties possessed by them. The inhibition is usually done by casting technique and inhibition thickness is usually required on higher side in order to make the missions successful. The addition of ethanol precipitates the large molecules (DNA, RNA, and proteins) and leaves the small molecules in solution. DNA, being the largest fibrous molecule, forms thread-like precipitates that can be spooled off onto a rod.
