In 1919, he made history with yet another of his inventions when his multiple-tuned antenna, antistatic receiver, and magnetic amplifier were used to transmit the first two-way radio conversation. This great event took place 900 miles out to sea, between the Trans-Atlantic Marconi Company station at New Brunswick and the steamship George Washington, with President Woodrow Wilson on board as a witness. [Pg.65]

The flow properties are not as good as those of zinc phosphate cement (Eames et al., 1978 Hembree, George Hembree, 1978) and film thickness is greater (Table 6.11). Moreover, it does not have the translucency of dental silicate cement (Wilson, 1975c). [Pg.264]

Potable Gold. In the KoUoid-Zeitschrift, H. Losner discussed the history of colloidal gold and quoted several early recipes for the preparation of red gold sols, or potable gold (Trinkgold). Preparations such as this were made by Creiling (1730), Valentin Krautermann (1717), G. E. Stahl (1744), and George Wilson (126). [Pg.12]
