Environmental problems often benefit from the application of screening analysis. Data obtained from the analysis of whooping crane feathers are presented in Table X. (The attention to whooping cranes results from a decline in the flock population over the past few years.) In this instance, the ICAP was able to provide screening data for limited amounts of sample, as only one wing feather per bird was available. Common analytical techniques would not have been able to provide such a broad spectrum of elemental analyses as cost effectively as the ICAP approach. [Pg.21]

Captive breeding has saved many wild animal species from extinction. These species include wolves, the bison, the Peregrine falcon, the California condor, and the whooping crane. [Pg.63]
