Successful installation, or roll-out, of your PSM systems requires sound planning and effective execution. No matter how diligent you have been, or how receptive and well-managed your company may be, no system as complex as PSM can work perfectly the first time. As every project manager knows, it s impossible to anticipate every outcome or contingency—especially when human behavior is involved. Pilot testing a new system provides the opportunity to identify weaknesses under controlled conditions this in turn enables you to fix problems before the system becomes fully operational. Once these problems are corrected, the pilot test produces a template for installation that can be replicated elsewhere. 

Data analysis should focus on the development or refinement of the conceptual site model by analyzing data on source characteristics, the nature and extent of contamination, the contaminants transport pathways and fate, and the effects on human health and the environment. All field activities, sample management and tracking, and document control and inventory should be well managed and documented to ensure their quality, validity, and consistency.

The selection of the recovery equipment should be based on functionality, capital cost, operational cost, and ease of movement between individual locations. Look for the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) label, which guarantees that the wood comes from a well-managed, sustainable forest. Coppice wood (see p.l58) is also a sustainable resource, cut from mixed woodlands that in themselves are a valuable wildlife habitat. 

Raspberries are usually sold as bareroot plants for winter planting. It is essential to buy certified virus-free stock from a reputable supplier. Well-managed, good-quality stock will crop for up to 14 years if grown in acidic soil. 

Feed bushes with garden compost, well-rotted manure, or organic fertilizers at least every three years, or every other year in poorer soil. Well-managed plants should last over 20 years. Mulch bushes in late spring with straw or hay. 

If you have no interest in gooseberries, there is a good chance that you have never tasted a fine dessert cultivar. Grown as bushes or cordons, they crop in their second summer after planting and, if well-managed, can last 15-20 years. 

The N-intake from well-managed grass and clover by organic livestock is assessed to be equal to that of conventional farms (Unwin et al. 1995). 

Antisecretory drugs may reduce transfusion needs modestly, but evidence of material effects on mortality is lacking. This is in part because in well-managed units the risks of death are under 10%. 

There are three main requirements for a semisynthesis of a protein (1) the synthesis of the appropriately protected and activated peptide, (2) the cleavage or partial degradation of the protein to be studied, and (3) the proper protection of the protein component. The first two are fairly well managed, but the third is more difficult and not always adequately selective. 

QMS program office is required to provide the organizational benefits expected from well-managed processes and should be one of the first elements established when instituting the program. 

The use of nitrocellulose with a nitrogen content below 12% also increases the smoothness of the surface of the tubes. The addition of higher nitrated cellulose is not detrimental in this respect if the production process is well managed.
