Changing 10 percent to a decimal, you get 0.10. Multiply 160 x 0.10 and you get 16 pounds. That should be a piece of cake. Oops Not on Weight Watchers — make that a carrot stick.

The nutritional calorie of the weight watcher is actually 1000 scientific calories, or 1 kcal. It is represented by writing calorie with a capital C (Calorie, abbreviated Cal). Table 1.3 contains a list of the commonly used metric units, their relationship to basic units, and their relationship to English units. 

Books abound, some of them assuring weight watchers that they can lose weight while eating all they want. 

The items lowest in calories are those with the highest water content. Hence, weight watchers may eat their fill of cooked snap beans (92.4% water and 25 kcal per 100 g), but they should curtail their consumption of roasted, salted peanuts (1.6% water and 585 kcal per 100 g). However, it is noteworthy that the high caloric value of the latter item is also due to a high fat content, since defatted peanut flour is much lower in energy content (371 kcal per 100 g).
