Water usage domestic

In designing the water storage capacity, account should be taken of the pattern of water usage for the premises and, where possible, to assess the likely frequency and duration of breakdown from the water authority mains. When dealing with domestic water storage, this is usually provided to meet a 24-hour demand. 

Water consumption the consumption of domestic and process water has remained virtually constant during the year at 1 million and 20 million m3 respectively. Cooling water usage has however fallen from 86 million m3 in 1997 to 76 million m3 in 1998. Much of this reduction has been due to the closure of a boilerhouse (as part of a change from generated to purchased steam). 

Agricultural water usage is normally accorded a lower governmental priority than domestic and/or industrial supplies and at times of water shortages, agricultural water supplies are reduced to ensure adequate supplies to the other sectors. 

The need for greater water supplies is evident however, in addition to the requirement for developing a method for conversion, a paramount factor is that it be done inexpensively to allow usage for domestic, industrial, and possibly agricultural needs. 

Domestic hot water is approximately used 50-100 liters per person per day. Usage of domestic hot water is assumed to be 300 liters per day in winter and 250 liters per day in summer for 4 people household.
