Ebola vims) envelope protein that is pseudotyped with an HI V vector. Pseudotyping was chosen as a strategy since it can allow for efficient gene transfer into specific tissues via a particular cellular domain this is based on the well-known fact that the viral envelope contributes to the tropism of the vims and determines if a virus-host cell interaction will occur. This particular vector has been shown to transduce efficiently intact airway epithelium from the apical sutfece in both in vitro and in vivo model systems (13).
