Vibration cast

The method of prepg CP-1B consisted of vibrating casting powder into a mold, introducing the nonvolatile, liq expl solvent by gravity thru... [Pg.506]

The simplest condensed phase VER system is a dilute solution of a diatomic in an atomic (e.g. Ar or Xe) liquid or crystal. Other simple systems include neat diatomic liquids or crystals, or a diatomic molecule bound to a surface. A major step up in complexity occurs with poly atomics, with several vibrations on the same molecule. This feature guarantees enonnous qualitative differences between diatomic and polyatomic VER, and casts doubt on the likelihood of understanding poly atomics by studying diatomics alone. [Pg.3034]

Raw material or components in shapes which are awkward to machine casting or forging skins, variable hardness, variable depth of cut, intermpted cut, work subject to vibrations, etc. [Pg.206]

The seal must also resist the vibrations from the explosions of internal combustion in the engine, chassis and wheel vibrations, and even potholes in the road. This seal must resist strong chemicals (anti freeze, anti-rust agents, radiator stop-leak and sealant chemicals, gasoline and lubricant residuals), and also solid particles (rust, iron slag, minerals, asbestos fibers, and silica from the engine casting mold). In spite of all this, the mechanical seal on the water pump of your car can run 7, 10, even 15 years without problems. [Pg.181]

Vibration appears/disappears suddenly with mcreasmg/decreasmg speed, respectively. Loose component Rotor sleeves/impellers become loose as speed is increased Bearing liners, housings, or selfaligning spherical casts have loose fits Loose casing or supports... [Pg.423]

Axial compressor blades are usually forged and milled. Precision casting has been used on occasion. The most common material used is a 12 chrome steel, in the AISI 400 series, and is also known as 400 series stainless steel. While the stator blades are occasionally shrouded, the rotor blades are free-standing. Lashing wires have been used on rotor blades, but are generally used to solve a blade vibrational stress problem. [Pg.250]

Recently, dry wire-pipe ESPs are being cleaned acoustically with sonic horns (Flynn, 1999). The horns, typically cast metal horn bells, are usually powered by compressed air, and acoustic vibration is introduced by a vibrating metal plate that periodically interrupts the airflow (AWMA, 1992). As with a rapping system, the collected particulate slides downward into the hopper. The hopper is evacuated periodically, as it becomes full. Dust is removed through a valve into a dust-handling system, such as a pneumatic conveyor, and is then disposed of in an appropriate marmer. [Pg.423]

Mechanical shakers A table that vibrates at a given frequency in order to remove particulate matter from a casting. [Pg.1458]

To obtain qualitative information about a molecule, such as its moleculip orbitals, atomic charges or vibrational normal modes. In some cast semi-empirical methods may also be successfully used to predict energy-trends arising from alternate conformations or substituent effects in qualitative or semi-quantitative way (but care must be taken in this area). [Pg.112]

Slide or plug valves. Cast-vibrating of the refractory lining and stem/guide modifications have minimized stress cracking and erosion. [Pg.204]

Material Shell carbon steel with 4-5 in. (10-12 cm) thick heavy weight, single-layer, cast-vibrated refractory with needles. Internals 304H stainless steel for temperature >1.200°F (650°C) and Grade H, % chrome for < ,200°F. Internal components exposed to catalyst should be refractory-lined for erosion resistance. Sliding surfaces should be hard-faced, minimum thickness in. (3 mm). [Pg.224]

Carbon steel, cold shell design, cast-vibrated 5 inch (12 cm) thick refractory lining... [Pg.230]

The molds are cast and allowed to cool for a suitable time, often 30 to 40 min, before shaking out the castings. The shakeout work may be supplied by a vibrating conveyor or a rotating drum, which cause the molds to be broken up by the vibration, exposing the casting for removal. The sand... [Pg.154]
