Vertical temperature survey

A "poor man s" method of locating the "pinch point" tray is the vertical temperature survey. This is accomplished as follows ... [Pg.398]

A second way of presenting the data of the temperature survey at the Mohawk River is in the form of seasonally repeated depth profiles in a well (Fig. 4.21). The temperatures are seen to increase for half a year and then decrease, proving recharge, similar to the mode seen in the temperature maps (Fig. 4.20). The profiles show the vertical dimension of the recharge— temperature fluctuations are accentuated between 180 and 200 ft. Recharge is most efficient in this horizon, indicating highest conductance. [Pg.86]

Huan et al. [41] measured the behavior of a small fluidized bed consisting of 45-80 mustard seeds in a small-bore vertical magnet. The small sample size allowed short pulses, and spatial distribution of collision correlation times and granular temperature were measured directly and compared with the hydrodynamic theory of Garzo and Dufty [42], This paper [41] contains an excellent survey of previous experiments on fluidized beds. [Pg.505]

To conclude with, an overall picture is given in Figure 4.21 of various polymers, ranged after Tg the points for the crystalline polymers are connected by a vertical line to their melting points Tm. In this survey the nature of the various polymers is easily recognizable For rubbers Tg is far below ambient temperature T0 for amorphous thermoplastics Tg lies amply above T0. For semi-crystalline thermoplastics Tg can be below as well as above Ta in the latter case the materials have an extra resistance against higher temperature. [Pg.83]

Magnetic Properties. Figures 3.1-271 and 3.1-345-3.1-347 [1.216] give a survey and present selected data of the magnetic mass susceptibility for the element and for Os—Cr alloys. This alloy system exhibits antiferromagnetism in compositions from 0.3 to 2.2at.%Os in the temperature range on the left-hand side of the bold vertical bars in Fig. 3.1-347. In Fe—Os alloys the temperature of the magnetic transitionand the atomic... [Pg.405]
