Value creation index

The Beginnings of a Sustainability Model. Many of the indicators used for the Value Creation Index studies mentioned above were limited to the availability of public information. But one could imagine some of the additional kinds of metrics - beyond that which is publicly available - that would constitute a firm-level model of sustainability. By mining what they already know from a host... 

The Value Creation Index (see Section 6.2.2, Intangibles and Sustainability) quantifies nonfinancial corporate performance and links key intangible factors to a company s valuation in the market. Using a mix of publicly available and proprietary data, multiple metrics for each intangible were collected and scrutinized statistically to discern their relationship with real - not perceived (based on opinion surveys, and so on) - market value.1... 

It can be demonstrated that the capital market overreacts - both upwards and, apparently to a lesser extent, also downwards - to purely cyclical fluctuations in industry performance.S) Our chart shows that the indexed market-to-book ratio roughly follows the normalized ROIC over time, rather than staying close to the 100 percent valuation level which is perfectly in line with future value creation (Fig. 2.4). 

As with gas—liquid systems, chemical engineering theorists have almost exclusively concerned themselves with the creation of surface area (drop formation), usually relating surface area creation to the expenditure of power raised to an index of around . These expressions are entirely empirical and of only guidance value in the absence of essential experimentation data. Drop coalescence remains a black art. 

It might be helpful to delay the creation of the indexes when the schema is first created and its tables populated. This is especially true if millions of compounds are to be entered at one time. However, if there are duplicate structures and the table contains even two rows with the same isosmi, it will not be possible to create a unique index on the isosmi column until only a unique set of isosmi values exists. The creation of a unique index does not fix nonunique values. It simply prevents nonunique values. In order to find duplicate structures in a table, the following SQL can be used.
