Unloading Considerations

At the two-multiple loading test, the samples were preliminarily exposed to the stretch exertions effect until the level G, which is O.S B (do not influence on the residual resistance) and the AE total calculation (Nl) was registered. After the test, samples were unloaded entirely, then loaded repeatedly until the initial level 6, and the AE total calculation (N2) was registered again. The ratio K=Nl / N2 was taken as a criteria parameter of the carbon plastic resistance (table 1). If the value of K is considerably exceeding 1, then the samples resistance is quite high. If the value of K is close to or less than 1 - it means that the samples have low resistance. 

The largest pipeline transport of gas, by far, is the movement of methane (natural gas). Natural gas can be Hquefted, but it is not pipelined in Hquid form because of cost and safety considerations. For overseas transport, it is shipped as Hquefted natural gas (LNG) in insulated tankers, unloaded at special unloading faciHties, vaporized, and then transported over land in pipelines as a gas. 

This phenomenon is still under investigation as is the substantial departure of calculated from that measured at volume strains below 0.15 as shown in Fig. 7.13. Details of these calculations are presented in the work of Johnson et al. [47]. The important consideration is that the unloading wave also contains micromechanical information if we only can be clever enough to apply proper interpretation to macroscale measurements. 

Considerable stray currents can, of course, be caused by dc-driven cranes that load and unload ships where the rails act as the return conductor for the current. The rails run parallel to the harbor basin, quay walls of steel-reinforced concrete or steel piling walls. If turndown is a consideration, again the reciprocating compressor, with its many unloading options, does meet the challenge. This flexibility is difficult to achieve reliably in the dynamic machine and may require the compressor to operate at an unfavorable point on its characteristic curve. 

Dynamic tensile failure, called spall, is frequently encountered in shockloading events. Tension is created as compression waves reflect from stress-free surfaces and interact with other unloading waves or release-wave profiles. Spall has been widely studied by authors such as Curran, Ivanov, Dremin, and Davison and there is considerable data. As shown in Fig. 2.19, the wave profiles resulting from spall are characterized by an additional loading pulse after release of pressure. The late pulse is caused by wave reflection from the internal void of the tensile fracture. Analysis of such wave profiles yields appropriate spall stress values. 

When classifying extent of space, consideration shall be given to fact that tank cars or tank vehicles may be spotted at varying points. Therefore, the extremities of the loading or unloading positions shall be used. 

Practical considerations of unloading play a major role in batch-mass reactors. For "low conversion reactors, a suitably sized dump line must be chosen, based on acceptable N2 dump pressure in the reactor, or discharge pump capability, as well as consideration for limiting reaction in the line between batches. 

For a polypress reactor, control of cake sticking and provision for unloading the cakes are practical considerations which can outweigh any theoretical kinetic determinations. 

Except for those catalysts subjected to the previously mentioned conditions, which lead to irreversible transformation of the active phase and/or the support material, the HDT catalysts are regenerable [37], Through a systematic and careful procedure, the spent catalyst is unloaded from the reactor and regenerated by specialized companies. Volume deformations under drying conditions It is under conditions where moisture is lost from concrete that volume deformations under loaded or unloaded conditions occur to any magnitude. It is difficult to say what degree of relative humidity structural concrete will be subjected to in actual practice, but certainly for thin sections or near the surface of large sections, considerable interchange of water due to changing climatic conditions will occur. 

The transfer of materials to and from the fluid-bed processor is an important consideration. The loading and unloading of the processing bowl can be accomplished by manual mode or by automated methods.
