University Codes of Ethics

Assuming you do not have that opportunity, listed here are a few, but varied, ethics codes from academic institutions for your perusal  

The Lawrence Technological University entry is an example of an academic honor code whereas the Smith College and Purdue University documents have a broader scope. Again, I do not mean to imply that either is generally preferred presumably both meet the needs of their respective institutions. 

Academic honor codes may be narrowly focused on students. However, that is not the case with the Lawrence Technological University academic code. The code emphasizes community-wide academic responsibility by stating It shall be the responsibility of every faculty member, student, administrator, and staff member of the University community to uphold and maintain the academic standards and integrity of Lawrence Technological University. Any member of the University 

University codes may be very succinct. For example, the U.S. Military Academy s Cadet Honor Code is simply stated as A cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do. According to the USM A, On a behavioral level, the Code represents a simple standard for all cadets. On a developmental plane. West Point expects that all cadets will strive to live far above the minimum standard of behavior and develop a commitment to ethical principles guiding moral actions. Besides it succinctness, the USMA s honor code is closely linked to the academy s core mission which is to develop leaders of character for our Army... A leader of character will apply the Spirit of the Code when making decisions involving ethical dilemmas.
