Trust organization case study

The juxtaposition of these two case studies illustrated how the bureaucratic processes in large organizations can impede responsiveness to OHS issues and how sophisticated, formalized electronic systems can sometimes impart a sense of confidence in the safety of current operations that may not always be justified or supported by plant inspections or observed protocols. The use of small groups of trusted individuals was found to be an effective means of managing very high level risks, as seen in Case Study Alpha. [Pg.733]
