Tris complexes aluminum

Ziegler polymerization catalysts may be prepared from Cp—Zr complexes and tri alkyl aluminum. The molecular weight of the polymers can be controlled over a wide range by varying the temperature. The activity of these catalysts is considerably increased by the addition of small amounts of water (263,264) (see Olefin polya rs).

Interesting results have been observed by investigating complexes of some poly-vinyl-ethers with tri-isobutyl aluminum. Jordan and coworkers have recently prepared several ansa-bis(indenyl) compounds (AlMe2L)indenyl 2SiMe2 and 1,2- (AlMe2L)indenyl 2C2H4 (L = THE, Et20, 1,4-dioxane) by a salt metathesis route. These were reacted with M(NMc2)4 (M = Zr, Hf) to eliminate [Me2AlNMc2]2 and form ansa-metallocene complexes of bis(dimethylamido)zirconium and bis(dimethylamido)hafmum. A simple tris(indenyl)aluminum compound has been prepared by reaction of bis(indenyl)mer-cury with aluminum metal. ...

Esteruelas et al. [40] reported very high activity, single-site, ethylene polymerization catalysts prepared with tridentate (N,N,N) ligands based on Bis(imino)pyridyl chromium (III) complexes that were activated with tri-isobutyl aluminum (TIBA) or alkylaluminoxane (-Al(R)-O), where R is methyl or isobutyl.

Bis- and tris-platinum complexes of sucrose show promise as antitumor agents (60). Sucrose monoesters are used in some pharmaceutical preparations (21). A sucrose polyester is under evaluation as a contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging (mri) (61). Remarkable solvent effects on the selective bond cleavage are observed in the reductive elimination of cis-stilbene episulfone by complex metal hydrides. When diethyl ether or [bis(2-methoxyethyl)]ether is used as the solvent, dibenzyl sulfone is formed along with cis-stilbene.
