Tripartite model

Butler and Kitajima [116] have developed a model, the bipartite model for the latter situation, and Butler and Strasser [118] have provided a tripartite model to analyse the former situation (see also the review by Butler [119]). From the bipartite model, the following equations can be derived to analyse the fluorescence yield at F, and F. ... 

It seems therefore that Butler s bipartite model is adequate to describe the interactions of the Chl-protein complexes when the concentration of cations is above a level which ensures tight coupling of LHC and PS II, whereas the tripartite model is needed when cation concentration is so low as to cause uncoupling of these two complexes. The mechanism of this regulatory effect is unknown.

An alternative model for the PS II exciton kinetics has been developed by Butler and coworkers many years ago (12). This "bipartite model" (Fig. 5) was originally developed to describe steady state fluorescence data only. An extension of this model taking into account heterogeneity in the antenna structure is known as "tripartite model". The bipartite model has been reformulated more recently to describe fluorescence kinetics also and it has been tested on experimental data (13,14). 

The tripartite model proposed by Stowell and Liu (31) has been used to analyze tensile behavior in a two-dimensional mapping (26) of injection-molded rectangular plaques. This model divides the angular dependence of tensile strength (4,32) into three possible failure mechanisms shear failure at the matrix-fiber interface, fiber failure in tension, and matrix failure in tension. 

The second type of failure mode is sl fiber failure in tension mechanism of the tripartite model for orientation angles in the 0 range of 0 < 0 < 0i ... 

Such was not the view of Mikhail Bakhtin. In the 1920s, Bakhtin devised a tripartite model of the psyche - socially conditioned, benign, gender-neutral - that would become the bedrock of his literary dynamics. The psyche is trusting, like Vygotsky s child in the world, and unrelated to Freud s triad... 

If the assignment of the 1 -hydroxyl group and the 1-carbonyl group as the AH,B glucophore is correct, it is then very likely that the third (y) site is located at C-4, as inspection of a molecular model shows that this carbon atom could be in a position which approximates very closely the Kier or Shallenberger and Lindley tripartite glucophore. This could be readily confirmed by structural-modification studies.

The disclosure of this active role of glia led to the model of the tripartite synapse (Araque et al, 1999 Bezzi and Volterra, 2001), where, besides the important tasks pursued by pre- and postsynaptic neuronal elements, a pivotal role in regulating synaptic function, strength, and plasticity is played by the glial cells surrounding the above-mentioned structures. 

Figure 6.1 summarises the relationship between Lucas (1992) types of organisational safety culture and their predominant model of human error on one hand, and Westrum s (1988) tripartite division of organisations on the other.

Although the ERR later has ehanged its name to the Regulatory Forum, its organisation and mode of working has remained more or less unehanged. It also became the model for the other established institution whieh eurrendy characterise tripartite collaboration in Norway s oil and gas sector.
