Transport phenomena kinetic-controlled

A general transport phenomenon in the intercalation electrode with a fractal surface under the constraint of diffusion mixed with interfadal charge transfer has been modelled by using the kinetic Monte Carlo method based upon random walk approach (Lee Pyim, 2005). Go and Pyun (Go Pyun, 2007) reviewed anomalous diffusion towards and from fractal interface. They have explained both the diffusion-controlled and non-diffusion-controlled transfer processes. For the diffusion coupled with facile charge-transfer reaction the... [Pg.13]

The results of this investigation show that CaCC>3 dissolution is controlled by mass transfer and not surface reaction kinetics. Buffer additives such as adipic acid enhance mass transfer by increasing acidity transport to the limestone surface. Dissolution is enhanced at low sulfite concentration but inhibited at high sulfite concentration, indicating some kind of surface adsorption or crystallization phenomenon. The rate of dissolution is a strong function of pH and temperature as predicted by mass transfer. At high CO2 partial pressure, the rate of dissolution is enhanced due to the CO2 hydrolysis reaction. [Pg.75]

Some relations between the flux of amino acid and other metabolic events have been demonstrated and also competition for transport between various amino acids has been observed. This suggests that there is a common step involved in the uptake mechanism for amino acids. Competition studies have shown the existence of several specific sites that control the entrance into the cell of various classes of amino acids. These studies have also shown that one generally deals with a saturation phenomenon obeying the Michaelis-Menten kinetics. [Pg.188]
