The Knowledge of and Concern with Apparel Social Issues Scale (Dickson, 1999 Dickson and Eckman, 2006) includes 21 items (see Table 9.1) designed to examine consumers knowledge of and attitudes toward issues existing in domestic and foreign AT factories, including the use of child labor and the treatment of workers in both domestic and offshore apparel manufacturing facilities. The Environmental Apparel Knowledge Scale (Kim and Damhorst, 1998) is designed to assess consumers knowledge of environmental issues in the production and recycling of apparel goods. The scale includes 11 statements (see Table 9.2) that pertain to consumers knowledge of chemical pollutants produced in the mannfacture
