Titanium-coupling

UV irradiation of heterocycles such as 53 in ethanol containing catalytic iodine leads to oxidative cyclization affording tosylphenanthrenoids 54 <96JOC1188>. The synthesis of a heterocycle related to 53 was accomplished by a titanium coupling reaction <96TL2721>. [Pg.103]

A part, consisting of a carbon fiber composite tube, was initially adhered to the inside of a short titanium coupling by a silica-filled epoxy. The bond failed and a fluorinated mold release was believed to be the cause of the failure and was the purpose for this investigation. A sample of the epoxy (Sample A) and the part (Sample B) were submitted for X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) to analyze for the presence of both fluorine and silicon. [Pg.626]

Furstner et al. synthesized lamellarin O dimethyl ether following their previous research on carbon-carbon double bond formation from carbonyl compounds by catalytic titanium coupling reactions <94JOC5215, 95JA4468>. A new titanium-mediated approach to pyrrole synthesis, based on the cyclization of a 3-acylamino-enone, was reported <95JOC6637>. [Pg.5]

U.S. Pat. No. 5,153,241 [66] discloses composites made of thermoplastic polymers such as low-density polyethylene, polypropylene or polystyrene (90-60%) and wood pulp or sawdust (10-40% by weight) grafted with a titanium coupling agent (isopropyltri[n-ethylaminoethylamino] titanate) in acetone, along with some inorganic fillers, such as calcium carbonate and Portland cement. [Pg.85]

The low valence titanium coupling reaction allows the formation of 3-selenolenes (36) from p-carbonylselenides (34) with yields up to 60% (Scheme 3). [Pg.741]

A Chinese study [7] has involved subjecting PCB to demineralisation and then surface modification with a titanium coupling agent (NDZ-105), and then investigating how the black interacted with polyisoprene molecules by inverse gas chromatography. Rubber compounds were also prepared using these modified blacks and their mechanical properties were recorded. The results indicated that these blacks could be used to replace commercial semi-reinforcing carbon blacks in rubber compounds. [Pg.242]
