Tip filters

Filter the conjugate through a 0.22-pm-tip filter and store in a refrigerator until immunization. For boostering, aliquot the sterile filtrate and freeze at -70 °C or mix with glycerol 1 1 and store at -20 °C.

Dilute anthocyanin and nonanthocyanin fractions 1 1 (v/v) with methanol and filter each through a 0.45-pm PTFE syringe-tip filter. For the anthocyanin fraction, use acidified aqueous methanol or acidified water as the solvent. 

It is recommended that aerosol-tight tips (filter tips) be used to prevent contamination of the pipets with HIV. Dispose of the tips that have been in contact with HIV in bleach, except if they have been used with a guanidine thiocyanate-containing buffer (see Subheading 2.5.1.). The remainder of the sample should be inactivated with bleach before being disposed of in an appropriate waste container.

Tip filters for the longitudinal relaxation time in the rotating frame by applying spin-lock fields or multisolid echoes combinations of relaxation-time filters and multipulse excitation chemical-shift selective excitation ... 

Of particular importance for detection of chemical or physical change in polymer materials are mobility filters, which are sensitive to differences in the numbers of molecules within a given window of correlation times. Within reasonable approximation such filters are relaxation filters. Here, Tj filters are sensitive to differences in the fast motion regime while T2 and Tip filters are sensitive to the slow motion regime. Which time window is of importance can be seen from Fig. 5.7 [101]. It shows a double-logarithmic plot of the mechanical relaxation strengths Hi(t) for two carbon-black filled styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) samples as a function of the mechanical relaxation time T. They have been measured by dynamic mechanical relaxation spectroscopy. In terms of NMR, the curves correspond to spectral densities of motion. But the spectral densities relevant to NMR are mainly those referring...

Filter the resin and amine through a polypropylene S5ringe tip filter into a 50 mL centrifuge tube. 

To extract DNA products from agarose gel, expose the agarose gel to ultraviolet light (see Note 5), excise the products by spatula, and transfer the DNA-gel piece onto the top of a sterile tip filter, which is placed in a 1.5-mL microtube by cutting the tip end to fit to a microtube (18).
