Tilt-up construction

A typical scale for such drawings is V4 inch to the foot, but any convenient scale may be used. On the drawing, all existing details—doors, windows, wall protrusions (common in the popular tilt-up construction), pipes and conduit on the walls, sewer outlets, utility connections, etc.—should be noted. It is important that all details be accurately recorded. 

The technique of horizontal on-site precasting of wall panels (often up to heights of 12.2 mm) is commonly referred to as tilt-up construction [34, 35]. 

Sulfur mortar could also be used to produce entire brick walls on the ground to be installed in the manner of tilt-up concrete walls. Only the forms in which the bricks are set and in which the molten sulfur is cast would differ. To demonstrate the concept, the wood form shown in Figure 1 was constructed large enough to hold six sub-size clay bricks. These bricks were actually 3% in. long by 1% in. wide by 1 in. thick. Transfer matrix calculations of the adsorbate chemical potential have been done for up to four sites (ontop, bridge, hollow, etc.) or four states per unit cell, and for 2-, 3-, and 4-body interactions up to fifth neighbor on primitive lattices. Here the various states can correspond to quite different physical systems. Thus a 3-state, 1-site system may be a two-component adsorbate, e.g., atoms and their diatomic molecules on the surface, for which the occupations on a site are no particles, an atom, or a molecule. On the other hand, the three states could correspond to a molecular species with two bond orientations, perpendicular and tilted, with respect to the surface. An -state system could also be an ( - 1) layer system with ontop stacking. The construction of the transfer matrices and associated numerical procedures are essentially the same for these systems, and such calculations are done routinely [33]. If there are two or more non-reacting (but interacting) species on the surface then the partial coverages depend on the chemical potentials specified for each species.

Three additional round-head bolts on the pylon head served on the one hand to measure the pylon s tilting and on the other hand served one bolt as a benchmark. Such early setting up of survey pylons was meant to ensure that any tilting or settlement occuring would have faded away by the time construction commenced. 

This surely must be a disgraceful record for an industry as hazardous as construction which pays a levy to a training board to set up competent training establishments on its behalf and then, having done so, allows such establishments not to run at full tilt.
