Thiourea resins

In comparison with urea-based resins, thiourea resins are slower curing and the products are somewhat more brittle. They are more water-repellent the U-F resins. [Pg.692]

Amino Resins and Plastics. The commercially important amino resins are the urea-formaldehyde and the melamine-formaldehyde condensates. Of lesser importance are the sulfonamide, aniline and thiourea resins... [Pg.256]

Urea formaldehyde and thiourea resins were reported to have a protective effect on viscose rayon and cotton fabrics upon exposure to... [Pg.183]

Semihydrogenation. Alkynes are hydrogenated to (Z)-alkenes with Pd on pumice. C—C Bond couplings. Different supported Pd catalysts have been tried. For example, Suzuki coupling based on Pd-thiourea resin" and nanosize Pd on poly(Af-... [Pg.314]

Thiourea resins are identified by the simultaneous presence of nitrogen and sulfur. (For identification of the individual elements, see Section 6.2.13.)... [Pg.52]

Urea and thiourea resins can be identified by taking a few milligrams of the sample, adding 1 drop of hot concentrated hydrochloric acid (about 110 °C), and heating until dry. After cooling, add 1 drop of phenylhydrazine and heat the sample for 5 min in an oil bath at 195 °C. Cool it and add 3 drops of dilute ammonia (1 1 by volume) and 5 drops of a 10% aqueous nickel sulfate solution. On shaking with chloroform, the solution becomes red to violet indicating the presence of urea or thiourea. [Pg.66]

Thiourea resins n. Resins made by the interaction of thiourea and aldehydes. [Pg.978]
