THIOETHYL ALCOHOL (75-08-1) Forms explosive mixture with air (flash point <0°F/<- 18°C). Reacts with water, steam acids, acid fumes, forming hydrogen sulfide. Violent reaction with strong oxidizers, calcium hypochlorite. Incompatible with aliphatic amines, caustics, ethylene oxide, isocyanates, nitric acid, sulfuric acid. Attacks some forms of plastics, coatings, and rubber. Flow or agitation of substance may generate electrostatic charges due to low conductivity. [Pg.1146]
