Thermal energy correction components

Gaussian predicts various important thermodynamic quantities at the specified temperature and pressure, including the thermal energy correction, heat capacity and entropy. These items are broken down into their source components in the output ... [Pg.67]

The solvating power of the dense carbon dioxide replaces most of the thermal energy of the high temperature in the GC method. The sample (including the nonvolatile part) is soluble in carbon dioxide. There is a simple test that corrects for the nonvolatile component. Since the nonvolatile components do not accumulate, a single packed column has been used for as many as 4000 analyses without serious degradation, dramatically improving column life. The data have been shown to be equivalent to that obtained by the GC method. [Pg.4585]

The additional introduction of turbulent viscosity to the stress tensor in Eq. (17.60) is called the Reynold s stress tensor, while in the energy equation the fluctuating component increases the thermal diffusivity by a turbulent contribution ( turb)- The same correction appears in the conservation equations of chemical species, where the presence of a diflusion associated to fluctuations is introduced. [Pg.524]
