Tetradentate phosphine ligand

Alternative ligands were examined as a way of modulating catalyst efficiency. Sonogashira reactions were investigated using Tedicyp 329, a tetradentate phosphine ligand [116]. A wide variety of substituted alkynes 319 could be cross-coupled to halopyridines 51 to afford 330. 

A tetradentate phosphine ligand has been prepared and employed as the chelating ligand in dinuclear platinum complexes (Equation (33)). PtClMe(cod) reacts with the phosphine in the presence of T1PF6 to form the dinuclear complex with a bridging chloro ligand 148.

Most of the nickel(l) complexes are four-coordinate, either tetrahedral (phosphine and arsine complexes) or square planar (macrocyclic and dithiolene complexes), but five-coordinate complexes are also easily formed in the presence of tetradentate tripodal ligands.
