Temporal change

The growth of animals can be defined as an increase in mass of whole body, tissue(s), organ(s), or ceU(s) with time. This type of growth can be characterized by morphometric measurements eg, skeletal muscle or adipose tissue growth can be described by observing temporal changes in ceU number, ie, hyperplasia, and ceU size, ie, hypertrophy. Growth also includes developmental aspects of function and metaboHsm of cells and tissues from conception to maturity. [Pg.408]

If there is no defect present, the temporal change of this zigzag region is period-2. The teinporsl change of the domain boundary is chaotic (i.e. it has a positive Lyapunov exponent). [Pg.392]

Continuous CO Oxidation on Piatinum The main difference between CO stripping and continuous CO oxidation is the CO (re-)adsorption Reaction (6.3). In contrast to CO stripping, this leads a steady-state CO oxidation current because of the continuous supply of CO. In modeling the continuous CO oxidation, we also need to consider the mass transport of CO from the bulk of the solution to the electrode surface. The temporal change in the CO coverage is now given by... [Pg.170]

Let now consider a system where in addition to the diffusion flux due to the chemical potential differences, there is also a certain flow field v(r, t). The equation for the temporal change of the order parameter field in this case is [1,4,157]... [Pg.180]
