Tellurium Hydroxide Trichloroacetate

Bis[4-methoxyphenyl] tellurium oxide reacted with an equimolar amount of trichloroacetic acid in benzene to produce bis[4-methoxyphenyl tellurium hydroxide trichloroacetate. ... [Pg.624]

Bis[4-metfaoxyphenyl] Tellurium Hydroxide Trichloroacetate 3.58 g (1.0 mmol) of bis[4-methoxyphenyl] tellurium oxide is suspended in 30 ml of dry benzene and a solution of 1.65 g (I.O mmol) of trichloroacetic acid in 10 ml of dry benzene is added dropwise to the stirred suspension over 10 min. The mixture is stirred for 14 min at 20°, filtered, and the filtrate evaporated. The oily residue is triturated with petroleum ether and the resultant solid is rccrystallized from carbon tetrachloride yield 4.85 g (95%) m.p. 116-119°. [Pg.624]
