Tartrate platelet

Figure 5.46 Schematic representation of helical and twisted ribbons as discussed in Ref. 165. Top Platelet or flat ribbon. Helical ribbons (helix A), precursors of tubules, feature inner and outer faces. Twisted ribbons (helix B), formed by some gemini surfactant tartrate complexes, have equally curved faces and C2 symmetry axis. Bottom Consequences of cylindrical and saddlelike curvatures in multilayered structures. In stack of cylindrical sheets, contact area from one layer to next varies. This is not the case for saddlelike curvature, which is thus favored when the layers are coordinated. Reprinted with permission from Ref. 165. Copyright 1999 by Macmillan Magazines. Cu(I) oxide particles of different shapes were obtained by reductive hydrolysis of Cu(II) tartrate solutions in the presence of glucose (107,109) using a process originally described by Andreasen (106). More recently, an extensive study dealt with the precipitation of different copper (hydrous) oxide and oxide particles using controlled double-jet precipitation (CDJP). Thus, depending on experimental conditions, hexagonal platelets or rods of Cu2(0H)3N03 and ellipsoids or needles of CuO... [Pg.22]

Hematological Effects. Human volunteers (assumed body weight, 70 kg) given 0.47-1.3 mg vanadium/kg as ammonium vanadyl tartrate in capsules for 45-68 days had no hematological abnormalities as measured by white blood cell count, differential count, platelets and reticulocytes (Dimond et al. 1963). Sodium metavanadate in food for 100 days had no effect on hemoglobin levels in rats (Franke and Moxon 1937). [Pg.28]

A 64-year-old African-American woman developed thrombocytopenia 17 days after treatment with carvedilol had begxm [27 ]. The platelet coxmt rose on the day of carvedilol removal and was within the normal range within another day. The patient was switched to metoprolol tartrate and the carvedilol returned to normal. [Pg.272]
