Note that for the primary, the available width is only 12.9 mm (since there is 4 mm margin tape on each side — for the secondary, since we have a foil with tape wrapped over it, we do not need the margin tape). We need to find how best to accommodate eight turns into this available area, with minimum losses. 

Electrical grade tape is wrapped around the cable or wire, and then the constmction is sintered to obtain good insulation and electrical properties. The same concept is applied to produce pipe liners, by tape wrapping a cylindrical mandrel. After sintering, the mandrel is removed and the liner is fitted into metal pipe casing. 

PTFE convolutes are manufactured by either tape wrapping or the isostatic molding process. 

You can examine the speed of this reaction by filling a tape-wrapped soda bottle with stoichiometric quantities of the two gases—two volumes hydrogen and one volume oxygen. A thermometer in the stopper allows you to monitor the temperature inside the bottle. As you watch for evidence of a reaction, the temperature remains constant for hours. Have the gases escaped, or have they failed to react ...

Tomita has described an 8 m collimation mirror fabricated from cfrp [84] and Di Vita [85] has shown how filament winding is a key technology for space propulsion. Blasi [87] has described the use of tape wrapping for the ARIANES booster.

StrongBack composite wrap systems can be applied to wet lines (under water), as it has the ability to displace the water from wet surfaces in order to make a permanent wrap. This tape-wrap reinforcement system can be used in the repair of low corrosion levels or mechanical damage. 

Basically,this unit consists of a thick-walled aluminium tube which serves as the column. A uniform temperature is maintained by means of electrical heating tape wrapped around the column, with control effected by a variable transformer. Carrier gas flow is controlled by the pressure regulator at the supply cylinder and is measured by a bubble flow meter. No detector elements are necessary since the retention times are determined by calibration and remain unchanged under the fixed conditions of use.

Coating of the exterior of cast iron pipe with bituminous or lower oil coatings has often been used to provide a measure of protection. More recently tape wrapping with self adherent tapes have been found to be a very cost-economical method of providing an efficient barrier between the metal and a corrosive soil Fig. 10.6. CP can then be applied provided the pipe sections are electrically joined.
