Tablets crushing/cutting

Scored tablets may be crushed. Do not crush sustained-release tablets may cut in half. 

Tablets, extended release Administer with food to enhance absorption. Do not cut, crush, or chew. 

Do not crush, chew, or cut tablets prior to ingesting. Swallow the tablets whole in order to maintain the integrity of the enteric coating. 

Tablets These are administered using the oral route. The dosage of a tablet can be reduced by cutting the tablet into half or quarters. Some tablets can be crushed and mixed with food, such as applesauce, depending on the medication.

Faced with a lack of sensifivify of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) for detecting a clear event assignable to the glass transition in low-density material, the powders were compressed for 5 min af 25°C into disk-shaped tabletted samples. For further DSC analysis, the tabletted samples were crushed into a coarse powder. For d)mamical mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA), the disks were cut into parallepiped shape (10 X 7 X 2 mm). Prior to their analysis, the samples were returned to the humidity-controlled atmospheres. 

UL medicines are medicines under an rmlicensed dosage form obtained after manipulation of the original dosage form (e.g. crush-ing/cutting tablets, extemporaneous preparations, special ). Sometimes the drug itself may have no licence at all (e.g. chemicals used in metabolic diseases, such as betaine to treat homocystinuria, and novel medicines). Imported medicines become rmlicensed in the country into which they are imported. 

Dosage Tablets 100 and 200 mg strengths. Adults initially 200 mg each a.m., may increase to 400 mg each a.m., if needed (begin with 100 mg each a.m. if have severe liver dysfunction). Not approved for use in ohildren under sixteen years old. Extended release capsules. May be swallowed whole, or beads may be sprinkled on applesauce and swallowed immediately do not chew, crush, or cut beads. 5,10,15,20 mg strengths. Adults initially 10 mg each a.m., may increase to 20 mg each a.m. after 1 week, if needed. 

The enzymes on the snrface of a freshly cut apple, avocado, or banana react with oxygen in the air to turn the surface brown. An antioxidant, such as vitamin C in lemon juice, prevents the oxidation reaction. Cut an apple, an avocado, or a banana into several slices. Place one slice in a plastic zipper lock bag, squeeze out all the air, and close the zipper lock. Dip another slice in lemon juice and place it on a plate. Sprinkle another slice with a crushed vitamin C tablet Leave another slice alone as a control. Observe the surface of each of your samples. Record your observations immediately, then every hour for 6 h or longer.
