Synthesis of Metal-Organic Frameworks MOF

The design and synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) has yielded a large number of solids that possess useful gas and liquid adsorption properties. In particular, highly porous structures constructures constructed from discrete... [Pg.799]

In this chapter we briefly review the recent progresses in the design and synthesis of metal-organic frameworks as a new class of materials with potential for NLO application. The noncentrosymmetric MOFs, discussed herein are synthesized by using either chiral ligands or unsymmetrical ligands to assemble with suitable metal ions under hydro(solvo)thermal conditions. Additionally, incorporation of alkali or alkaline earth ions into Cd carboxylate frameworks is also an effective way to produce noncentrosymmetric MOFs. [Pg.162]

On the other hand, the literature on fluoride crystallization is scarce, in spite of the recent work on nanosized fluoride particles for applications in optics or catalysisInterest in fluorides is mainly driven by their properties as crystallization agents for the synthesis of zeolites or phosphate-based materials and more recently of metal organic frameworks ° (MOF). Mixed anions (fluoride-phosphate, fluoride-carboxylate...) build three-dimensional 3D open frameworks for gas storage (CO2), catalysis or emerging applications (the symbols OD, ID, 2D, 3D, characteristic of the dimensionality of the frameworks, are used throughout this chapter). [Pg.347]
