Sweeping motion

Place 0.25 to 0.5 inch of ointment with a sweeping motion inside the lower lid by squeezing the tube gently.

Most polyurethane systems tend to cling to the glass surface, so an anchor-style stirrer is the best to use. This provides a sweeping motion that helps prevent a very viscous layer from forming on the surface of the vessel. 

To compare the cleaning characteristics of supercritical carbon dioxide with that of air, we have plotted in Fig. 8 the radius of the smallest particle (in the range of a few microns) that can be removed with air at 1 atmosphere and a temperature of 300 K. It shows that even for a relatively high velocity of 1000 cm/s, the minimum radius is 0.2 microns. This may be compared to 0.005 microns for supercritical CO2. Requirements of such fast flow for air will probably force the use of jets. This raises an additional complication of having to install a mechanism to sweep the wafer clean. The sweeping motion will most certainly lead to additional contamination from lubricated joints, etc. Such complications do not arise for the case of supercritical CO2, given the relatively low velocities needed. 

In Procedure A, the lower visible part of the igniting flame is applied to the total top surface of the specimen for up to 30 s with a sweeping motion avoiding any flame application against the vertical faces or edges of the specimen. The flame is removed every 5 seconds for a short time just sufficient to observe whether or not the entire top surface of the specimen is burning. 

Carefully lift the lid of plate only enough to facilitate the selection of a well-isolated colony. Cool loop by slightly touching it to the agar surface. Then proceed to pick the chosen colony. Remove loop and replace cover. Lift lid on uninoculated plate and with a gentle sweeping motion, pass the... 

To alert or slow traffic The flagger shall face traffic and slowly wave the flag in a sweeping motion of the extended arm from shoulder level to straight down without raising the arm above a horizontal position. Flagger keeps free arm down. 

Apply the flame, with a sweeping motion to the top of the specimen for up to 30 s, removing it every 5 s to determine if the top is burning. Ignite the entire top of the specimen so that the specimen is well lit, then remove the flame. 

A slow sweeping motion is applied during dressing. 

Residual glass fibers in the hole that can affect reliability may be removed chemically or mechanically. Mechanical removal is preferred. Blasting with aluminum oxide (about 20 pm diameter particles) is commonly nsed to remove glass fibers and smears as well. An excimer laser is also nsed to remove smears in the hole by a sweeping motion through the copper opening. In both cases, it takes abont 30 sec. to desmear one side of the panel. 

Under all travel conditions the truck must be operated at a speed that will permit it to be brought to a stop in a safe manner. The driver must be required to slow down for wet and slippery floors. While negotiating turns, speed must be reduced to a safe level by means of turning the hand steering wheel in a smooth, sweeping motion. Except when maneuvering at a very low speed, the hand steering wheel must be turned at a moderate, even rate.
