Supramolecular binuclear

Fe(bpe)2(NCS)2 MeOH, bpe = tra x-l,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethene, is a supramolecular coordinationpoly-catenane, consisting of two interlocked 2D networks. Bis-pyridylethane and bis-pyiidylethene also appear elsewhere as bridging ligands in binuclear complexes (e.g., pentacyanoferrates (Seetion 5.4.2.2)). [Pg.434]

In this section, I will comment on selected examples of luminescent supramolecular architectures built through Au-Au interactions, both in the solid state and/or, when there is enough evidence, in solution. This topic will be divided into four parts based on the unit that by repetition gives rise to the supramolecular network, that is mononuclear, binuclear, trinuclear and higher nuclearity systems. [Pg.351]

Precedence for remote electron transfer like that observed in the Ti02-Ru (II)-L-Os(II) triads exists. In previous work, a supramolecular approach for designing a molecular sensitizer with controlled orientation of the component units on the semiconductor surfaces was reported (Fig. 9). The binuclear compound is based on a fac-Re(I)(dcbH2)(CO)3 surface anchoring unit and a —Ru(II)(bpy)2 chromophore linked through an ambidentate cyanide ligand [24]. Due to the facial... [Pg.13]

Treatment of 2,9-dibromophenanthrene with Pt (Et3P)4 followed by bromine-nitrate exchange gave the desired 60° tecton, 2,9-6/i [/ra 5 -Pt(PEt3)2(N03)]phenanthrene, which with different linear connectors afforded a series of self-assembled supramolecular triangles <03JA5193>. A series of related binuclear metallomacrocycles [Cd(N03)2L]2, where L is an angular exo-bidentate, such as 4-(4 -pyridinyl)(2-pyridinylethynyl) benzene, have been reported... [Pg.463]

During the last two decades, the supramolecular approach greatly contributed to the rapid evolution of standard coordination chemistry, usually limited to mono- and binuclear complexes, toward more complicated and sophisticated nanometric edifices bearing novel functionalities. [Pg.322]

In the solid state the binuclear tetramethylethylenediamine derivative 65 forms a supramolecular double-chain structure in which the molecules are linked by four intermolecular O-H- -O hydrogen-bonds. There are two additional intramolecular hydrogen-bonds, one within the bridging alkynediol ligand and the other one between the bridging and the terminal alkynediol unit. [Pg.346]
