In Par. 1.3.3 an extensive list of references pertains to the Kekuld structure count of kekulene K = 200). The same paragraph gives a survey of a topic with relevance to the Kekule structures the sextet polynomial and sextet patterns of kekulene. Here we shall supplement the above surveys (Par. 1.3.3 and preceding sections of the present chapter) by a few more references. [Pg.40]

For the sake of completeness we wish to mention (somewhat out of context) that Zhang and Lin (1993), in a note on enumeration of certain equivalence classes, included circumkekulene (which after all is treated within Par. 2.5.1) as an example. [Pg.40]

Two graphs are said to be isospectral when they have the same characteristic polynomial, viz. det z I - A, where I and A are the identity and adjacency matrices, respectively see, e.g. Graovac, Gutman and Trinajstid (1977) Trinajstic (1992b). The characteristic polynomial is a polynomial in x of degree n. [Pg.41]

The compounds are listed in order of increasing molecular weight. In most cases the references refer to articles where the occurrence of the compound was indicated for the first time or its rediscovery in a new plant family was announced. Where the compound has been mentioned in earlier chapters of this treatise, the review reference is usually given, together with some recent supplementary references. [Pg.27]

Since this is an introductory text, all topics of potential interest cannot be treated to the depth that the reader may require. Consequently, a number of useful supplementary references are listed below. [Pg.602]

Many other problems can be formulated as integer programming problems refer to die examples in this chapter and Nemhauser and Wolsey (1988) and the supplementary references for additional examples. [Pg.354]
