Supercritical flow reactor schematic

Figure 1 is a schematic of one of the two supercritical flow reactors used in this work. The system is first brought up to the operating pressure by an air compressor. An HPLC pump forces the reactant solution through the reactor, the ten-port valve and dual-loop sampling system, and into the product accumulator, where the flow of products displaces air through a back-pressure regulator. The reactant inflow is rapidly heated to reaction temperature by an electric entry heater/water jacket combination, and maintained at isothermal conditions by a Transtemp Infrared furnace and an exit electric heater/water jacket combination. [Pg.228]

The promising results obtained under batch-wise operation could be confirmed also under continuous-flow conditions. As schematically shown in Fig. 2, the substrate was injected with an HPLC pump into a stream of premixed CO2 and O2 before entering the reactor. The supercritical mixture was bubbled through the stationary PEG phase containing the Pd nanoparticles. [Pg.97]

Figure 5.2 shows a schematic flow diagram of a reactor based on the supercritical methanol vapor bubble method. In the reactor, superheated methanol vapor is blown into oil continuously, and reacted with triglyceride to form FAME. The formed FAME flows out from the reactor with unreacted methanol vapor and is collected by a condenser. No catalyst is used in this method. [Pg.112]
