JOHN DALTON SUGGESTED MARKED CIRCLES TO INDICATE DIFFERENT ELEMENTS. [Pg.36]

Methoxyphenamine is a sympathomimetic drug that has been used as a bronchodilator (1) and to treat nasal congestion. It has been claimed to be relatively free of cardio-stimulant and psychomotor effects, but there is httle published evidence suggesting marked beta-adrenoceptor selectivity, and the normal oral dose of 50-100 mg can in a minority of cases produce tightness of the chest and palpitation. Drowsiness, mouth dryness, nausea, and faintness have been anecdotally reported. [Pg.2291]

Using smaller oral doses of carotenoid analogs, Zieng et al. (1992) reported a 50-fold difference in serum concentration between the carotenoid analogs 4,4 -dimethoxy-/3-carotene and ethyl-/3-apo-8 -carotenoate and the metabolite of /3-apo-8 -carotenal, j3-apo-8 -carotenyl palmitate. It was also shown that the time post dosing to reach this maximum concentration range between 5.5 and 27.1 hr. This variation suggests marked differences in transport or volume of distribution between carotenoids of different structures. [Pg.61]

Marling Soaps.— Mr. Dunn suggested marking soaps, coloured soap, or other similar material in this way ... [Pg.192]

Research carried out at CDRE(I) suggested marked differences in the effectiveness of mustard gas and lewisite under warm and humid conditions. In 1945, the US CWS commissioned human experiments on an ad hoc basis these showed that lewisite was a relatively ineffective and unsuitable bhster-ing agent in tropical climates TNA, WO189/3364 CDRE(I), Report No. 76, Some Experiments on the Skin-Buming Power of Lewisite Vapour in a Warm Humid Climate , 19 April 1946. [Pg.512]
